To use a grocery cart at the store, you must put an euro coin in the slot and when you return the cart, you get your eruo back.
BIKES, BUSES, TRAINS, and WALKING--we covered many, many miles in Berlin. Even the
mailman rides a bike.
The only thing that can stop the buses--is a marathon or a protest.  This time was anti-abortion so we didn't mind the walk to church.
How about a group bikeride?
Tiergarten Park is beautiful.   It began as the preferred hunting ground for the
electors of Brandenburg. It was Friedrich I, the first Prussian king, 1701-1713
who opened the park to the general public, providing easy access to the
Tiergarten by building roads and thruways.  It is a square mile and includes the Zoo.
The most beautiful cemeteries in the world are in Berlin.  We spoke with a man taking care of his parents plot--a beautiful garden.  He said that every 20 years you have to pay for the spot again.
A lake with a walking/jogging path around it was just one mile from our apartment.  It is part of the Grunewald Forest.
A charming German Home on the same street as the Mission Office.
